The official microblog of Zhengzhou Education Bureau reported the incident of the day: On the morning of April 9, 2021, students from Class 10, Grade 8 of Zhengzhou Experimental Foreign Language Middle School reported to the class teacher that Hu, a classmate of this class, had brought his mobile phone to the classroom. At about 10:05 am that day, the class teacher called Hu to the office to inquire about the situation, and informed Hu’s parents to come to the school to cooperate with the matter. During the class teacher’s inquiry, Hu did not admit to bringing the mobile phone into the classroom. In order to find out the real situation, the head teacher left the office and entered the classroom at 10:17 to learn more about the situation. At 10:44, the class teacher got Hu’s mobile phone from the classroom and returned to the office. At this time, Hu had left the office and did not know where to go. At 10:41, the campus security guard found a person lying on the ground in front of the teaching building, immediately reported to the director of the general affairs office and called 120 emergency number. At about 12:00, he died after being rescued by Zhengzhou Second People’s Hospital.

Hu Fuchang, the father of the girl Hu, told the Red Star journalist that the child’s mother had arrived at the school at 10: 20 am on the day of the incident and proposed to take her daughter home for education.
