In recent years, the transformation of military sports construction in the new era has been launched in an all-round way. The fundamental point is to serve the troops and support the construction of combat effectiveness. The basic principle is to highlight military characteristics, strengthen basics, extensiveness and practicality, and strive to improve the contribution rate of military sports to the combat effectiveness of the troops.

Physical education, like moral education, intellectual education and aesthetic education, shoulders the heavy responsibility of shaping and cultivating people. There is a close relationship between sports and troops, which is also an indispensable basic training content in military training and an effective way and means to improve the combat effectiveness of troops. Our army has attached great importance to sports work since the day it was founded, and has shouted the slogan of "training the iron bones and muscles of the workers and peasants and defeating all enemies". Only when everyone participates, improves the participation, and allows every officer and soldier to actively participate, can we avoid physical shortcomings, comprehensively consolidate the physical foundation of the troops, and effectively provide strong physical support for carrying out various combat readiness tasks.

Pay attention to expanding educational functions. Improving the endurance, explosiveness, speed, coordination, cold resistance, dizziness resistance and anti-backlash of officers and men is a hard index for organizing military sports training. At the same time, officers and men’s team consciousness, fighting spirit, will quality, healthy mentality and other soft indicators also need to be honed through military physical training and unique sports activities. Only by constantly expanding the practical and actual combat functions of sports activities and gaining a double harvest of "hard power" and "soft power" can we improve the contribution rate of serving combat effectiveness in all directions.

Deepen military attributes. Whether organizing military sports training or carrying out various forms of mass competitions, the ultimate goal is to be able to fight, win battles and win future wars. Running 5 km armed cross-country has "combat capacity" and playing basketball also has "militancy". All sports-related practical activities have military attributes as long as they can serve the purpose of preparing for war, strengthening the physique of officers and men and rallying the morale of the army, which is worth advocating and popularizing.

Fitness is based on building a foundation and strengthening the body to win. The clarion call to achieve the goal of building the army for a hundred years has sounded, and military sports should run out of its own "acceleration" and leap to a new level of the times, contributing its due strength to the great cause of strengthening and rejuvenating the army.
